As part of our 100 Days of Volunteering programme, members of our Senior Leadership Team recently rolled up their sleeves to support a local community space in Edinburgh.

The team spent the day at Portobello Town Hall, a historic venue that brings joy to the local community. With summer just around the corner, the hall is preparing to host a variety of events, from community fundraising to comedy shows.

Having recently been awarded funding from the Scottish Building Society Foundation to support its volunteer efforts, the hall welcomed additional help and our team spent half a day giving the interior a fresh coat of paint to brighten up the venue.

Suzanne Williamson, Head of Membership said: "It was incredibly rewarding to contribute to a space that brings joy to so many. Working together with colleagues and seeing the results of our efforts was a great reminder of the value of giving back".

The 100 Days of Volunteering programme encourages colleagues across all departments of Scottish Building Society to engage with causes they care about. Portobello Town Hall is just one of many community charities benefiting from this programme, and we look forward to continuing our efforts throughout the year.
