We were proud to once again team up with Edinburgh Rugby to host our popular Walking Rugby tournament, bringing together seven teams from across Scotland to play in the home of Edinburgh Rugby.
This year’s event saw teams; Ayr, Annan, Edinburgh BATS, Kelso, Midlothian Uncoachables, Murrayfield and Strathmore come together to celebrate the inclusive and social spirit of walking rugby. The format continues to grow in popularity, offering a fun and accessible way for people of all ages and abilities to stay active and connected through sport.
Lindsey Kyle from Annan Walking Rugby summed it up : “It’s those connections, being out in the fresh air, we try and stay outside as long as we can, chatting to people, from a mental health perspective it is really good.”
We were also joined by Oliver Duncan from the Edinburgh Rugby Academy, who shared: “It’s great to see people of all ages from all across Scotland playing together for the love of the game. It helps a community like this of older ages stay fit as well.”
Through our partnership with Edinburgh Rugby, we’re proud to champion inclusivity and give back to communities in meaningful ways. Programmes like these show that rugby truly is a game for everyone.
