Why is this important?
We have 2 login systems running for a little while, the existing online system currently used by our online Members and our new system that everyone will soon have access to.
Whilst we upgrade our online system, we wanted to make sure our regular customers have their usual access.
The date the new system came online was the 30th of April.
SBS Online is our enhanced digital platform, designed to make managing your accounts simple and convenient.
Savings members can manage their accounts, open new (including joint) accounts, and complete applications in real time.
Mortgage members can view their outstanding balance, transaction history, and interest rate.
Yes. If you are already registered for the previous version of SBS Online, you will need to re-register to access the new platform.
If you have any difficulty registering or your details cannot be found, please contact us and we will help you get set up.
You can register via our website by following the registration link and entering your details.
Once registered, you can log in using your email address and password. For added security, you will also be asked to enter characters from your memorable word or a one-time passcode sent to your registered phone.
After completing registration, we will carry out final checks before giving you full access to your accounts.
If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it using the “Forgot password” option on the login page.
If you believe your security details may have been compromised, you should update them immediately and contact us so we can help keep your account secure.
Once logged in, you can manage your Scottish Building Society accounts in one place. This includes:
Some actions, such as changing your nominated bank account, may still require you to contact us directly.
Most of your accounts will be available to view and manage once you have registered and completed verification.
Some accounts are not currently available online, including children’s accounts, trust accounts, accounts under Power of Attorney, and closed accounts.
You can continue to manage these through our Relationship Centres, and you can still use your passbook when visiting us.
Applying for a savings account online is quick and straightforward and usually takes around 10 minutes if you have your details ready.
We do not carry out a credit search when you apply for a savings account. We may complete an identity check using credit reference agencies, which will not affect your credit score.
In some cases, we may ask you to provide additional documents to support your application. These can be uploaded online or provided in person.
Yes, you can apply for a joint savings account online with one other person, as long as you have their permission.
If you already have a joint account, you can manage it online. If your account requires both signatories to authorise a transaction, both parties will be required to register.
