Hibernian player, Jamie-Lee Napier is announced as the SWPL Player of the Month for October 2019
Scottish Building Society were delighted to present the October Player of the Month trophy to Jamie Lee Napier from Hibernian, who has been nominated a total of 3 times in the SWPL vote. Napier played a full 90 minutes in all three league matches in October, scoring four goals in the process. Her team scored 22 goals in October with comprehensive victories over Forfar Farmington and Rangers. However, they suffered a disappointing 3-1 loss to rivals Glasgow City FC.
Speaking from Oriam, Napier said: “I’m delighted to have won this award, especially after missing out twice earlier in the season. October was a strong month for us a whole and I’m pleased to have played my part in the success.”
Paul Alexander, Head of Business Development & Strategy of Scottish Building Society, said: “A huge well done to Jamie-Lee for winning the award. She was narrowly defeated in the March and May voting but managed to go one further this time around.”
Also nominated for the October award was Clare Docherty (FC Kilmarnock), Donna Paterson (Forfar Farmington), and Kirstie Mcintosh (Hamilton Academical).
“I’d like to say congratulations to all the nominees for what was another busy and entertaining month” said Alexander. “We look forward to presenting the final Player of the Month award for November and wish all those involved in the Scottish Building Society SWPL an enjoyable break.”
